Interview with 'September' actor - Jeff Payne
How did you first break into the industry?
There was a zombie movie starting production in 2010. The director wanted local actors to be in it. I went and audtioned. They gave me one of the leading zombie roles. That would be my first taste of film life.
Who/What inspires you as an actor?
My inspiration comes from the feeling of escape. To make something that other people can watch and find enjoyment is the reason I do it. Maybe somebody is having a bad day. They come across something that I've made, and that makes them forget... even if it's just for a few minutes, they can find enjoyment.
What was your best set moment on ‘September’?
Best set moment, honestly the entire night. I got to be weird and in this creepy character's shoes.
What sort of person is going to love this short?
Anyone who enjoys horror with slow buildup atmosphere.
What advice would you give aspiring actors?
My advice to anyone going into the field, just go out and do it. You don't have to wait until you get that camera you've been waiting for. You can make a movie wit
h an iPhone if the story is right.
